Overview
A clinical weight care solutions provider helps patients on GLP-1 medication programs stay connected with their care teams through AI-powered care plans, body composition tracking, and personalized health guidance. As the company expanded its programs, clinicians faced three persistent challenges: personalizing care at scale, delivering clinically grounded patient education, and capturing body composition data that could meaningfully inform treatment decisions. 10Pearls built a HIPAA-aligned platform consisting of a patient app and clinician portal, powered by a dual-pipeline clinical AI system purpose-built for each audience.

Challenge
Managing GLP-1 patients at scale meant solving three problems no platform had combined: generating personalized care plans without bottlenecking clinicians, giving patients clinically grounded education between appointments, and tracking body composition metrics — body fat, skeletal muscle, visceral fat — that matter more than weight or BMI but had no connected way to inform care decisions. Solving each alone was possible; solving all three together was the real challenge.
Solution
10Pearls built a three-part platform from the ground up: a patient mobile app, a clinician web portal, and the dual-pipeline clinical AI connecting them, all on a HIPAA-aligned AWS foundation.
Patients complete onboarding and in-clinic body composition scans via the Prism Labs SDK, tracking body fat, skeletal muscle, and visceral fat across scans, while an AI health assistant grounded in the founding physician’s clinical methodology answers questions with clinical credibility. Clinicians work from a secure, role-based portal built on Amazon Cognito, viewing patient data and trends and generating care plans through a natural-language chat interface, with the clinician making decisions.
The intelligence layer runs two separate Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines through Amazon Bedrock: one bounded to patient education, one with full context for clinician decisions, both retrieving against a PostgreSQL store on Amazon RDS, with configurable guardrails and AI red teaming keeping each pipeline within scope. AWS Fargate, RDS, S3, API Gateway, and WAF, secured through Cognito, form the compliant backbone spanning both the app and clinical system.

The platform unites all three previously unsolved capabilities in a single, HIPAA-aligned product spanning the patient app and clinical system. Its AI is human-in-the-loop by design: the patient AI stays bounded to educational guidance, the clinician AI assists decisions clinicians retain full authority over, and configurable guardrails plus AI red teaming keep responses safe and clinically accurate, with founding-physician sign-off throughout. 10Pearls delivered this as a complete, ground-up build with a 20-person cross-functional team, shipping the app and portal in parallel. A live Decision Log of more than 22 documented decisions kept every team aligned, ensuring nothing was built on assumption.
