How 10Pearls earned the AWS AI Competency
AWS AI Competency is an AWS-validated partnership status, not a self-proclaimed title. It requires passing a four-stage evaluation of our AI practice, certifications, and production-stage AI deployments.
Eligibility
10Pearls qualified for the AWS AI Competency through the service path, open only to AWS Advanced Tier Services Partners (or higher), which ensures that the partner has certified staff and proven customer success.
Self-assessment
We self-assessed against validation checklists (VCLs) to ensure that we meet all the technical, security, and customer-experience requirements for AI competency, based on AI projects we have already completed in AWS environments.
AWS technical review
AWS evaluated 10Pearls for relevant certifications held by our engineers, our AI and data engineering capabilities, production-stage AI deployments rather than proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and alignment with the Well-Architected Framework. Other factors considered were our foundation model selection criteria, our approach to data and privacy in AI projects, and post-deployment support practices.
Validation
10Pearls successfully passed the review and is now an AWS AI Competency Partner. Maintaining that status requires periodic re-validation based on AWS's latest AI competency standards and requirements.

Is it the same as an AWS certification?
No. AWS certifications are awarded to individuals. AWS AI Competency is a partnership badge awarded to an organization that AWS has evaluated for both AI capabilities and deep AWS knowledge.
How rigorous is the validation?
The AWS AI Competency validation is extremely rigorous and requires partners to pass strict technical reviews and offer proof of production-grade deployments, showcasing their hands-on experience. The partners must also prove alignment to AWS’s Well-Architected Framework.
Does the AWS AI Competency cover both generative and agentic AI?
Yes. It was previously focused on just generative AI and partners were called AWS Generative AI Competency partners, but in late 2025, agentic AI was added as another category within this competency, though a comparable AWS Agentic AI competency wasn’t introduced. The combined category was retitled AWS AI Competency. It can now be earned in both generative and agentic AI categories by AWS AI partners.
