10Pearls Recognized among Top Digital Transformation Service Providers as Cited by Forrester Research

New research from Forrester brings to light the increased demand for digital transformation due to the COVID-19 recession, which is already separating the winners from the losers. 10Pearls was among six companies that were interviewed for that research, along with Deloitte, Ernst & Young, and IBM. Full access to the report, written by Ted Schadler, is available here to Forrester clients or for purchase (1).

According to a public blog post by Ted Schadler summarizing the report, “digital transformation was never optional. But most firms treated it that way, applying digital technology in dribs and drabs — until COVID-19 shuttered economies and forever altered the patterns of life and work and commerce. That is, until uncertainty and volatility became the new normal. Companies leapt into adaptive mode. And they seized digital to do it.” (2)

The recommended path forward is characterized by co-innovation agility where firms will, “focus on their core capabilities and smartly outsource other capabilities to partners” (2) while scaling up “agile planning and execution in every facet of their business to be more adaptive to demand and more resilient to threats.” (2)This lean approach invites companies to ask, “what’s the least we can do ourselves and the most we can get out of partners?” (2)

The report summarizes this approach here:

It’s clear that pre-pandemic processes are too slow and costly. Already we see that “firms have been incredibly agile in these last months” (2) writes Ted Schadler. But now is the time to deploy flexible outsourced teams at scale, and companies that are truly committed to co-innovation agility need to bring an agile approach to each stage of planning and execution.

According to the research, now is the time to lean on partners to achieve faster and better innovation. That is, companies ought to outsource immediately and allow partners to drive progress for key business initiatives including digital transformation, strategy, and insights.

As it turns out, 10Pearls was included last month in the Now Tech: Digital Transformation Services, Q2 2020 report (3), updated by Forrester’s Nigel Fenwick on June 16th. The report provides an overview of 39 top digital transformation services providers and is intended to help digital leaders and CIOs understand the value they can expect from a vendor. That research emphasizes the urgency of digital transformation and the impossibility of doing it alone. Full access to that research is available to Forrester clients or for purchase.
