A report from the World Bank focusing on businesses in Latin America shows a significant gender gap in STEM fields, as only one-third of employees with degrees in these areas are women.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The lack of female talent recruitment in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers is a challenge that persists in the industry. Therefore, the technology agency 10Pearls announced the launch of its ‘Women in Tech’ initiative, which this time will take place in Costa Rica.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

10Pearls was founded in 2004 by brothers Imran and Zeeshan Aftab. What started as a two-person operation is now a global business with offices in the United States, Costa Rica, Colombia, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, and Peru.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

During the gathering, attendees will have the opportunity to witness a series of talks by experts and industry professionals. The event is designed for women in technology careers and aims to include everyone, from students to experienced professionals, to enable cross-generational learning and unlock diverse perspectives. Part of the motivation for hosting a new edition of ‘Women in Tech’ in Costa Rica is due to the efforts 10Pearls is making to promote talent in the region. The company has been expanding its presence in the region since 2021, offering nearshoring services to partners and clients in various countries in the region.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As the 10Pearls leadership team began to establish operations in Latin America, they realized the significance of the gender gap in the region’s technology industry, prompting the motivation to launch a new chapter of Women in Tech.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
