Cowork\u00a0is Copilot with agentic capabilities, allowing it to complete a wide range of tasks and perform complex, multi-step actions within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.<\/p>

It\u2019s\u00a0not a single standalone agent, but rather agentic capabilities embedded within Copilot that can coordinate actions across Microsoft 365 applications like Word and Excel.<\/p>

The core idea is that a Copilot Cowork user will not have to jump from app to app for different tasks and can accomplish many of them in Copilot\u2019s chat window \u2013 from scheduling meetings to developing well-researched plans.<\/p>

Cowork\u00a0has agency but not full autonomy, and unless configured otherwise, requires human-in-the-loop for certain task executions based on context and policy.<\/p>

Microsoft calls these \u201cartifacts,\u201d and they are visible (for now) in the\u00a0Cowork\u2019s\u00a0output folder.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
